Hi, my name is Gowri Koneswaran. When I was about 12 years old, I simultaneously became passionate about environmental justice, human rights, and animal advocacy. It wasn’t too difficult for me to see the three as intertwined. As I got older, I pursued all three of these areas professionally, while maintaining a healthy interest in the arts — writing, in particular.

Here’s what I propose…

(1) finding an RV and figuring out a way to travel around the country for a few months, minimizing our impact on the environment as much as possible;

(2) touring the continental U.S. to research, write about, and call attention to the many harmful impacts our lifestyle choices and daily habits are having on the planet, animals, and other people;

(3) seeking out girls (ages 9-12 to start) who are making a positive impact in their communities and globally;

(4) documenting and broadcasting our experiences through a podcast, a video weblog, social networking sites, and word of mouth; and

(5) publishing a how-to guide for girls who see the world they’ve inherited and want to live lives that will create a true alternative…

Hope to meet you soon!
